The teachers are constantly learning and growing so nothing stagnates and they are a real community – they know almost everyone’s name at the studio, they take classes with us, encourage each other, and make us laugh – creating the most uplifting atmosphere to push, play and expand into more than you thought possible.
What To Expect?
Each power yoga class is suitable for all levels and all classes are taught in a heated room (90-95 degrees). This powerful, energetic, playful, flowing class has a strong emphasis on breath and allows beginners, intermediate and advanced students to be challenged in the same class. The room is heated to help cleanse the body and warm the muscles. Each class will torch calories, tone, strengthen, rinse your body, clear your mind and leave you with a sense of accomplishment and empowerment. The dynamic mix of sweat and spirit that is cultivated in a power yoga class will challenge you to step up to your edge and unlock your hidden potential for achieving authentic personal power and living an extraordinary life.
How To Prepare For Practice
Please arrive 10 minutes early to set up your practice space
Bring a yoga mat, towel and water bottle
Wear non-restrictive clothing and plan to be barefoot
Refrain from eating large meals at least 2 hours before class
Drink plenty of water before and after class
Leave the world behind – Please turn off all cell phones and pagers
Be prepared to sweat. We practice in a heated room (90 degrees)
Plan to stay for the entire duration of a class

Children 7 and up are welcome to a class with a parent. All classes are based on the Baptiste Power Yoga tradition that combines adaptation, integration, and fun – great for kids.

Yes. But you determine the intensity with which you work in each pose and throughout the process. Your first classes may be difficult. No matter your age or experience level,this yoga will take you to your edge – and pull more out of you than you ever thought possible.

This yoga is based on intuition rather than tradition. If you think you need to go to a health club to be wonderfully fit, think again. If you think you need to escape to a cave in the Himalayas to find enlightenment that yoga promises, think again. You will discover strength and energy you never knew existed.
+ What If I've Never Done Yoga?
We encourage you to develop a flexible mind. You don’t need to be physically flexible or physically strong. All you need is to focus on letting go, breathing, moving and respecting your limitations. A yoga pose will expose imbalances, as well as physical and emotional blocks. Soon the tension, and sometimes fear will release and your range of motion will naturally increase.
+ How Hot Is Class?
The room is heated to 95 degrees using infrared heating. The added heat allows your you to move into and out of poses with more ease while allowing your body to get deeper into poses for maximum benefit. The heat causes us to sweat and detoxify the body. It’s important to welcome the heat, stay hydrated and honor your body throughout every practice.
+ Does Power Yoga Incorporate Meditation?
We are having you meditate the whole time you are in class…without you realizing it. A more vigorous class is not necessarily less meditative than a slower, mellow class. The ingredients for creating a meditative state are the integrity of the teacher, and the focused attention the student brings to the practice on any one thing at a time; such as your breath.
+ Is It Safe To Practice While Pregnant?
Yes. Make sure to let your doctor know that the room is heated to 95 degrees and not 105. That is where a lot of the miscommunication occurs. The owner practiced throughout her entire pregnancy and has a healthy baby. Yoga isn’t just about moving your body – it allows you to connect with yourself, give yourself the space and time you need to be a better human to everyone that you are around. The hormones during pregnancy are no joke and practicing Baptiste Yoga gives you access to living a more vibrant life for you and your growing baby. The heat in the room can be challenging for anyone and we don’t recommend starting once pregnant if you haven’t practiced before because it’s good to have a benchmark of how you did feel before pregnancy. + My Gym Has Yoga Classes. Why Don't I Take Those?
It is wonderful that people are getting exposed to yoga in places like gyms or health clubs. And while there are benefits to taking yoga classes anywhere, there is nothing like taking it in a studio dedicated to yoga, especially one specific style. Gyms usually teach yoga in a multi-use room and in this environment, it is difficult to come into your body, out of your head, and relax.
+ What If I Can't Touch My Toes?
If you are asking this question, you need to come join us. We will welcome you and make sure you feel at hOMe. The poses will tell your body where you can and cannot go. Eventually, your mind will learn to listen to your body and not the other way around. The more you practice, the more tension will be released and your range of motion will increase.
